Writing is a rewarding and sometimes painful pastime, but without it I’d be lost.

This website was set up to showcase my work and that of others.

Contrary to popular belief I am not a pile of books, though definitely a little rough around the edges.

Writing has been part of my life from as far back as I can remember. My love of prose grew and with lots of encouragement from a very supportive English teacher, I followed my dream.

Mushy, innit?

From fiction to academic and back to fiction. It’s all about putting words together on a page and hoping the reader will absorb their meaning and like where they’re being taken.

Music is also a huge passion of mine and shares the limelight.

Update 18/02/2017: Who is this John Henry? I’ve written two books (one still in edit mode) about Forensic Scientist Joe Flanagan as a tribute to my late father – he was a crime fiction enthusiast. I used the pen name: John Henry (my father’s first and middle names). You can find book one here: Breaking Protocol.
